People who have multiple cats and/or are more engrossed with their cat(s) than normal pet owners seem to have a certain characteristic to their personality that I just can't describe. There also seems to be a relationship between these folks and latex allergies. I know it sounds crazy but I work in a hospital and see from 20-40 different patients daily. There are strange similarities among the "cat people" and latex allergy patients. Quite a few of these "cat people" are also latex allergy patients. Just curious if anyone else out there has noticed any of this?

Theress a woman across the street from me who has like 25 cats! She started with like 5 and u know how it goes- babies babies babies and now they seem to be everywhere! She puts out one bowl of huge food a day and they all literally FIGHT over it- some r sick and dying and others so skinny it makes me want to puke. I have called ASPS many times but most of the cats r feral and only come to her voice- for feedings! She is totally weird as all get out and claims allergies from grass-cats-( I kid u not) to latex! Very strange but yes I ve seen it too and still do every single day! God Ive gotta move!

Well, any behavior from any fanantic is going to be strange. Some people have this all-emcompassing obsession that they must focus into one thing; very unhealthy, sometimes dangerous. Don't know about the correlation between latex and cat owners, though. Interesting.

I have noticed about cat fanatics being strange however this is the first I have heard about any latex allergy connection....Interesting...
You should keep some records and do an informal study...

my aunt has 13 cats in her home and her mother has a latex allergy.

I'm a nurse and I've never noticed this. I just think that both cats and dogs offer different personalities that appeal to certain people.

i've noticed more over the top dog people than cat people. at least cat people don't feel the need to drag their little 6lb dog all over town, buy it bags to ride in, and dress it up in little outfits. But yes most cat people do tend to be more of the loner type.
