If someone has a list of instructions or descriptions for organising a pub treasure hunt, pleaselet me know. If someone has already organised one in St Albans area that would be even better.

Is this in the pub? Or outside for people who frequent the pub?
If outside you need a map, you need to walk the course and hide the treasure - but you could hide small objects (like key rings) that you swap for a better prize at the end of the hunt, back in the pub.
Its always wise to have 3 different levels of objects and therefore prizes, one really good "top" prize.
You need to write clues to the harder hiding places.
Mostly have fun!!

First decide on the amount of time you want it to run, then on the distance, roads etc.You must try out the route first yourself before putting you clues to paper. I was on two where the clues were in poetry made it a bit more fun and harder. The more clues the more fun, but make sure that where the clues are left there is no danger to vehicles or people looking for clues IE. away from corners or narrow bits of road, in other words make sure there is somewhere safe to stop. Try using country roads

Decide where you are starting from and leave a clue there to get the competitors to the next point then leave a clue at that point for the next and so on until the end and it is the first one home that is a winner.
