Ok, there is a difference in "ghosts" and "spirits" hun. Ghosts are spirits that have been trapped here on the earth between planes, both here and there. They actually do not know that they have passed on, and still think that they are apart of this existance. Many are trapped because of horrible accidents, wars, or heartache. Any way strong emotions at the time of their passing has trapped them in the state that they are in at this time. And yes, there is enough "evidence" to support that they do exist.
Spirits are those that have passed over to the other plane entirely. They may be contacted through the dreamstate as we are more open to them then. However they will not be "hanging around". We are all spirits of this existance, and like energy, we do not completely disappear, but only change in form. We move on to higher planes or lower ones, depending upon what it is that we are supposed to accomplish.

There is no such thing as life after life. You are alive now when you die you are no longer alive, you may exist in a different form but it is not life. And yes ghost are just one of those different forms of existence.

I've had quite a few spiritual encounters. Yes ghosts are real and there is life after death.

throughout history depictions of ghosts abound in literature in artistic endeavors in poetry ,in song...some evidence has been collected..audible recordings,,,images caught on film.. most cultures pay great homage to the dead and the afterlife ...spiritualist exist in all most every culture..the honoring respect and offerings of incense, prayer, fire to our ancestors and those who came before us is prevail ant in many locations around the world...the Egyptians were obsessed with the afterlife and ritualistically prepared the dead for the same...built great temples to house the dead..their spirituality and rituals and belief system were almost exclusively involved with the afterlife...

I believe that people that die DO know what's going on once they pass. My husband died, and my mother had a dream that made no sense to her at all, but when she told me about it, it contained the same activities that I was doing the night before. And she didn't know what I was doing! No one else did. It was pretty wild! (I don't know if that's really an answer to your question, tho!)
