I've already asked this question, but would still like some fresh ideas. Im a Graphic Design student, who has been asked, as an assignment, to design a CD/Album cover of any type of music of my choice. Give me some ideas. What kind of music do you like, and what would the cover look like? What type of images do you associate with the music you like?

I was given a suggestion when under hypnosis to imagine a clear plate floating in mid air with a soft blue glow around it, above the plate, a suspended clear pitcher of water is dropping single drops of water onto the plate. The surface of the plate is full of water and each drop creates a ripple outward and a single drop is just about to fall over the edge.

I use that vision along with "Sound Scape" music to help me sleep.

Haha! We are like twins!! 1. Record it yourself. If your electric keyboard (or electric piano) has a USB Port to hook it into the computer, then do that. If it only has MIDI Ports, thats ok. They sell cords for MIDI to USB on Computer online for about 15 or 20 bucks. If you ave a mac, use garageband to record. If you dont, you can Sibelius or Sony ACID. 2. It depends on how long the pieces are. Fit as much as you can onto the CD, but do not go over 60 minutes. Thats from personal experience. 3.I think you might Nero to bun them onto a CD properly. Thats how I do mine and it works great! 4. Yes burn them yourselves. 5. Buy lightscribe DVDs. If you have a light scribe DVD/CD Burner, your computer can laser engrave your CD's for you. 6. Give them for free at first. I started out playing at a cafe when I was 13 and handing CDs out for free there.. I'm 14 now. I've already done several solo concerts at my school, and had two actual gigs where I charge to get in. The second night i did a gig in Rochester NY, about 350 people came and they all paid 10 dollars to get it. I also sold about 110 CDs that night at 10 dollars a piece, as well. That was a nice night!! Start out very small though, and SLOWLY work your up. Thats what I did, and look at me now!!! Hope this helps!!

Well like most people said it really has to deal with yourself since the teacher (or whoever) is trying to draw out your creativity. What kind of music do you like and what do you think of when you think of that type of music? For me being in the music industry I have a very big imagination for rap. For example one CD which is labled "Armageddon". Picture Resident Evil 1 at the very end when Jill is in the streets and complete chaos is around her. Similar to that but I have fire in the back ground and instead of a shotgun I'm holding a mike. Another one which I have in mind would be almost like a rags to riches story. A hologram showing you out on the street with just plain clothes and in the next view with diamonds and gold and people all around you. My advice take some time, think about it and find it in yourself. Good luck

This is obviously a highly personal artistic movement and the best answer is within yourself. Do what the recording artists do (or at least the good ones). How does the music make you feel? Listen the the music and find that emotion. Transcribe that emotion to your vision for the cover. The beauty of art is that it is meant to evoke emotion in the audience. This is a great opportunity to for you to express yourself in your interpretation of another artist's medium. Have fun!

What ever music/artist you choose, get and ideal background on that artist, pictures, details and put it all together like an art. You want the cover to represent what the song & life about the Artist..Use your imagination and creativity, you can do it.
