I've never been there, but my grandparents were born there. Hope to go someday...quite looking forward to it.

If they were, how come they are subjugated to the English. If the English are in control, presumably that makes them superior to the Welsh. It's not necessarily weakness, it's really because the Welsh are lesser in number and so weaker for that reason. How many famous Welsh people, who helped shape the modern world and improve things for the better have there been? Not many. I submit that the Welsh are NOT the the best country full of the greatest people - although Charlotte Church is cute

Remember a car accident in wales near Llyn Tegid(Bala)burns were involved rushed to welsh cafe owner for ice and water to treat burns.
I was arrogantly told that there was plenty water in the lake.
There again there are bad folk everywhere.
On another note whilst camping near Mold it was pouring with rain and still some idiot managed to burn the tent down with a camping stove, there where six of us and the nearest farmer said we could sleep in the hay barn for the night.
Next morning the farmers wife gave us all a full cooked breakfast and would not let us pay for it.
Another year we my wife and I and two small children were marooned near Llanberis,Snowdon.Again a bed and breakfast owner opened up their rooms for us to stay the night and wouldn't let us pay.so out off ten its an eleven.Borra da.And im English with my mother half Welsh.

Coming from Wales myself I'm sorry to say no it's not. It's one of the poorest places in the UK and if Glyn from Big Brother was anything to go by I felt ashamed to be Welsh.
Thankfully I don't live in Wales anymore.

No - "every" time I went there, it rained. During my school days, that was about 20-30 trips - I think 1 trip it didn't actually rain, a real turn up !
Loved kayak-surfing on the Spring Tides in Pembrokeshire, though.

Depends whether or not you like sheep.
I kid, the welsh people are alright, although economically and historically I don't think you can ever claim the best country. Just remember who conquered who!
