'We the people' need to axamine Allen's past and his present which seem to correlate very tightly. And why do we need to do this.

Had 'we done so before Bush got elected we would not be such a fractured and deeply divided nation as we are now. There would not be this corruption of religion by the republicans for political gain. There would not be this unending use of religion to suppress the 241 million who did not vote for Bush and yet are trapped in this stranglehold of Republican hate that has so damaged our political system where we now have a ONE party system, no 'system of checks and balances' and therefore no more democracy.

It is just amazing how much crime and corruption can be committed by those who claim to be christians, just as georgie boy claims to be Jesus Christ, and yet those crazies still vote for him and will continue to do so election after election after election.

His using the "N" word is relatively unimportant, it's how it affects his politics.

Apparently his ethnocentric sentiments have not abated, just gotten slightly more "couched" in politi-speak. He is scary, but not as scary as having the current president in the White House.

I see the Democrats fracturing the country a lot more than Bush and the Repubs. Whatever Bush says, the Dems say the opposite, whether they agree or disagree.
As far as George Allen goes. His father was the great football coach of the Redskins, if anybody cares.
He may have used the N word before. You cannot tell me that Bill and Hillary never used the N word. Hillary called their aid Dick Morris a filthy J*w.
But whatever, getting back on topic. What concerns me about Allen is the poor decisions he has made. He called that one guy a deragatory term last month. That is incredibly stupid. If he can't run his own campaign, how can we trust this guy to run our country?
We need to scratch him off the list of potential presidential candidates. Maybe he would be a great president? But we have to judge him on his behavior, and his behavior has been foolish, so therefore, no way George!

Personally, I can care less what a politcian said or did decades ago. Heck, I can really care less what they did before entering the public eye. I know I have done and said some things in my past that I am not proud of and I am sure the skeletons in my closet would prevent me from holding high public office, but would that be fair? Of course not. What I did as a 20-21 year old kid has no reflection on the man I am today. We expect our politicians to be perfect and to have lived perfect lives, but as the Christians would tell ya, let him without sin cast the first stone. As soon as we realize that we are all falliable and the true measure of a person is how they act now, then we will always be lead by liars who have more means to cover up their sins.

Politics in this country has devolved to the point that no real issues are ever discussed. Over examining the past is just a scam that one politician uses against another to side step any real issues.

Senator Allen is being smeared by a liberal media who are concerned he will be a strong 2008 Presidential Candidate.
