My friends baby weighed 11lb 7oz and she just almost gave up and had a C-Section but the doctor helped her allot and she had her normal. But now if a baby is over 10lb they have to give you a C-Section well here at lease.

My oldest was born at 9# 14 oz. His ultrasound the day before showed him weighing at 10# 1oz. He apparently pooped on the way out, and lost a bit. 2 days labor. I begged for a c-section, but they delivered me vaginally.
I tore 3 inches up, an inch deep. Had to sit on pillows for over 3 months. The newborn clothes I bought for the way home, didn't fit. He wore a size 3-6 months the day he was born. I swore I would never have another child.
Today, he is the oldest of 7 children (2 are unborn twin boys). I learned my lesson with him though - demanding an induction once my others hit 8 lbs. And now, with my twins' pregnancy - I tell my OB that I can easily give birth to a 4 lb baby feet first, if my body could take 10!

A baby on the news a few weeks ago (a record-breaking baby) was over 14 lbs. I knew a woman who had a couple of 10 or ll pounders.
Mine were 5 lbs 13 oz and 4 lbs 8 oz (if they'd gone to term they would have maybe been 6 lbs) - about half the size of your friend's little guy. It never matters who weighs 4 lbs and who weighs 9 or 10 (or 14) - they're all sweeties, aren't they? We love new little bee-bee's.....

My biggest was 8 pounds, 13 ounces. Had to have emergency C-section.
My first was 8 pounds, 5 ounces, natural birth.
My kid sister was born 10 pounds, 11 ounces. She's a tall girl too.
Kids are getting bigger and bigger these days. It's not just the larger women having big ones now.

My wife gave birth vaginaly to our daughters who were both over 10lbs (one pregnancy at a time, thank god). I recall with our second and bigger baby the doctor said he was going to go get a needle and thread to repair a tear he (I guess) assumed she must have had because of the size of the baby vs her size (she is 5 foot 1). When he examined her he said “ohhh… she didn’t tear”, let out a half chuckle and gave me this odd smile. I wasn’t exactly sure how to take it.

My son was 10 lbs. 4 oz., born in the water, no pain meds. I found it an easier birth than my 7 lb. 12 oz. daughter in a lot of ways. I was more relaxed this time around and I tore much less.

Same here....vaginal birth. My youngest was 10 lbs 1 oz
Can I have a drum roll? My oldest was 11 lbs 11 oz.
No c-section for me. When my oldest was born, my neighbors referred to my house as "Home of the Whopper".
