God, were all of those names a trip down memory lane. GI Joe, Transformers (OMG, what have they done to them lately!), the 3 different Voltrons, He-man, Jayce and Wheeled Warriors, Spider Man and his Amazing Friends, Silver Hawks, Dungeons and Dragons and even the damn Smurfs/Gummi Bears/Monchichis were all better than the drivel I witnessed a few weeks ago when I wasn't feeling well and tried to watch to Sat. morning cartoons!
Even the way too goofy Mr. T cartoon was better than most of them. :P
As far as favorites, I have to admit to getting up real early because I loved the Dungeons and Dragons one and it was only shown at either 6:30 or 7 AM.

Now this brings back nogstalgic moments. I remember growing up in the late 80's, I remember most of these shows. Gem, He Man, Thunder Cats, Centurians, Voltron, Transformers, Smurfs, the knock of smurfs(forget their name), GI Joe, WWF cartoon (not to mention teenage mutant ninja turtles). Looking back these shows weren't really good, the only thing I remembered the purpose for most of the shows were to sell their faulty childrens toys. If I had to chose one particular show from my
youth it has to be samurai pizza cats, it had lots of potential to be a real good show but Ninja Turtles had all ready happened. Whoever said that todays cartoons aren't as good is right, there are only a handful of shows that I can think of from the past decade that were good.
Are you serious homie? you must have taken too many shoryuken's to the chest. I've seen sigma 6 and behind the graphics and production quality there isn't an ounce of depth(which doesn't sound bad considering it's action oriented).Sigma 6 doesn't even measure up to it's predecessor. The cheap puns and cliche dialogue is enough to make anyone cringe, maybe there is something wrong with me? I know our perception changes as we become older but theres no reason why quality should be sacrificed in the name "flashiness". Oh, it looks just like the stuff from Japan, the kids won't be able to tell the difference. It's a sad day when a kid has nothing to look forward to on saturday mornings.

Oh my goodness I agree completely! I have 3 girls & jate that they can turn on the tv & watch a cartoon at ANY time... 24/7! My oldest had a stomach bug & was watching some sill nick toon at 2 in the morning.
There is nothing special about toons these days- they are not good & they are always on...no waiting untill saturday morning. I remember running down the stairs in my PJ's & munching on some cereal with my little brother. There was no arguing about what to watch- there was one, maybe two channels with cartoons on...not 25!
man, those were the days!

I would have totally agreed with you a month ago - but dude, have you checked out GI Joe Sigma Six? It is totally old school GI Joe, with a slight modern twist. Very good show.
Also, The Emperor's New School is pretty good.
From back in the day, I think my favorites were Ninja Turtles, He-Man, Muppet Babies, Land of The Lost, and Dungeons and Dragons.

I remember waking up to Spider-Man, X-Men, and The Tick every morning and now, what the Hell is on these days? Sponge Bob. Give me a break. Are children that mindless? I sure hope not. X-Men:TAS was my favorite by the way. X-Men: Evolution was not so bad, but Jean and Scott never got married on Evolution like they did on TAS.
