Anybody know why some of my backup copies of my DVD's won't play in my DVD player, but they will play on my computer. Do I need a newer DVD player? I am using high quality, name brand blank DVD's to backup.

I am using the right kind of disc (dvd+rw) and my dvd player will play MOST of the copied discs...my question is why won't it play all of them, and is there a trick to making all of them play. They will also all play on my computer.

Not all DVD players play DVD-R or DVD-RW format discs, just like not all CD players play CD-R or CD-RW.

You need to make sure your DVD player will play the DVD format your using +R or -R. Even if you update you player you still have the risk of it not working. Use the following link to determine what format your current player supports. Or buy one that support all formats.

Don't forget that there is a difference between DVD+R and DVD-R. Your burner might be compatible with both, but not your reader.

Make sure that you use the right kind of media.
