My friend was shocked to learn that the phone company, every year, prints out everyone’s phone numbers and addresses (well, mostly everyone’s) and puts that book on every front porch that they see. What a foul abuse of people’s confidence! What a shameful way to display one’s knowledge of all that is precious and holy: our personal contact information.
I just said: “Dude, it’s a phone book. Get over it.”
(So I guess that the answer to your query is: no, it is not against any law that the phone company hasn’t already broken.)

it is very easy to get anyones phone # or address. seeing how you are on yahoo all you have to do is type in reverse search if you have there # and it will give you a name and address. and it isnt against the law here but youre state might be different.

no--only phone companies own the number. We just rent them. But if you call to harass them, then that is against the law.
