authentic chinese fengshui is a compilation of theories, each with its own system and calculations. these are formulated by the chinese about 4,000 years ago to maximize yield of crops by the chinese farmers. later it was used by the chinese military to win battles. now it is adapted to everyday life to either optimize wealth or health.

there are 3 important elements in fengshui: heaven, man and earth. heaven is god given like our destiny, which in fengshui can be calculated through four pillars, and cannot be changed. next is man, or our deeds, meaning we shall reap what we had sown. and last is earth. earth is what is generally known about fengshui that it is the arrangement inside the house to make our lives better.

but fengshui is much more than that. fengshui has also a time element. meaning, anyone can go either bad or good luck on certain days. likewise, you can use fengshui to predict the future or what trend is in store in a certain future. thus, day selection is also a part of fengshui.

there is also fengshui regarding the faces of people, that certain features mean something. and if you want to earn more money, you should get an artificial mole through makeup or grow a mustache. this is also a technique used by employers assessing incoming employees.

but most fengshui revolves around the manipulation of our house/ environment to make our lives more productive, either good health or good health. my master always reminds his students to always go for wealth, because you can always go to the doctor to make you better.

there are many fengshui theories, like flying star, it calculates the energy combination of a certain lot/ house based on the degree to which the main door is facing. the lot is divided into 9 parts with 3 rows and 3 columns, like a tictactow grid. each block has 3 numbers, representing mountain, water and time/ base. each number represent an energy, which can combine with other energy/numbers to form new energies. the task here is to locate the good location/ direction and the bad one, and arrange the differents parts of the house accordingly. location and direction here are 2 important concepts.

then there is 8 mansions, this written by many authors as determinig the whether the person is an east person or a west person.

there are many theories out there, but the most important are not written in books. but they are taught by masters.

It does, it sounds quite familiar. Feng Shui is the art and study space and the objects you put in them. It is not a religion, not a science...It merely attempts at improving your environment for multiple different areas of life. It can be used on a small scale, such as a room in a house, or large scale, such as a whole city. I don't have the time or room to share my knowledge...there are many methods and "rules", and it may be impossible to employ all of them at once. Anyways, Emphasis is put on regulating the flow of chi, which to my knowledge is an energy inherent in everything. You don't want chi to flow too fast or too slow, or in the wrong direction, therefore furniture and objects are placed so as to encourage a healthy flow. Additional focus is on emphasizing certain elements that are beneficial when in the correct area. Many feel that improvements in love life, work life, friendships, etc. can be made through the practice of Feng Shui. Hope I helped...

Feng shui is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. The literal translation is "wind and water".Feng shui is not a decorating style. Rather, it is a discipline whose guidelines are compatible with many different decorating styles.

The source of the term is purported to come from the poem "The winds are wild/The sun is warm/The water is clear/The trees are lush".Feng shui is a discrete Chinese belief system involving a mix of geographical, religious, philosophical, mathematical, aesthetic, and astrological ideas.

For a place to have "good feng shui" is for it to be in harmony with Nature, to have "bad feng shui" is to be incongruous with Nature. People aren't usually described as having good or bad feng shui themselves. It is believed that certain people by force of personality or visual appearance are able to add or sutract from the feng shui of their surroundings.

Yes. Of course it sounds familiar, so does Ang Bok and Kwan Chen. Lots of things sound familiar.

Feng Shui is an ancient asian art of interior/exterior decorating that claims to help you increase the flow of life energy, chi, in your life.

Many of the rules are about the preservation of open space and the creation of circular flows using the geometric arrangement of furniture.

I think some of the rules are arbitrary/superstitious, like where to place square or circular objects, or where certain colors should go. If you put gold colored circular objects in the northwest corner, it will bring financial income!

Experiment for yourself. I have deteremined that there's at least something to the basic rules.

It is Oriental (maybe Japanese) for "wind and water"
It is about placement of things to increase chi (subtle, invisible energy)(good energy)(for health, wealth and happiness) A basic example to start with is: To move a desk - so as to not confront people coming in

Near Water and mountains increases balance, placement of buildings can interfere, beams/ pointed structures can block chi or lift chi. Different shapes give off their chi based on their geometry (square things radiate in only 4 directions, but a circle flows out in all directions)

They base home placement of items on a "Bagua" which is an 8 sided (stop sign looking shape) each side represents something ex: on top = fame, and going clockwise for each side = (marriage, children, helpful people, career, knowledge/ self cultivation, family/ elders, wealth) also each of them is associated with a color also again starting at the top and going clockwise = red (fire), pink, white (metal), gray, black (water), blue, green (wood), purple

I wrote in a few of the elements there ex: red (fire)...the elements are represented in items and placing a particular colored item in a particular part of the home is said to influence the chi of that part of your life...
The bagwa (not sure of sp.) can be superimposed over the home and each part of the home falling into a certain part of it...aligning what is in each room according to this is part of what they do or "fixing it" by doing certain things.

They have 9 "solutions":
1. Light refractors: Mirrrors, Lights (lamps), Crystals
2.Sound (Bells, Wind chimes (brass)
3. Living things (Plants, Flowers)
4. Bamboo Plates
5. Moving Objects (Furniture)
6. Heavy Objects (Statues, Rocks)
7. Elec. objects
8. Colors
9. Transcendental (Mystical Symbols)

They also mentioned: Water fountains, Balls,Tassles (on a string) (to break up sharp angles)

a lot of it has to do with "intuitive intelligence"
