Television companies are allocated a budget to produce programmes. The budget is usually based upon the amount of time that the show is on air, and with game shows this is usually quite short. In addition game shows have quite low costs because they do not have to pay the expensive fees that top notch actors demand. The TV show may also supplement the show by having a telephone quiz or entry system that will then charge each person for their phone call to enter.

Same place the money for any show comes from: the advertisers. Actually, a game show is not all that expensive to produce compared to an episode of an adventurous cop story or even a sit-com.

Some of it comes from the phone in competitions the game show will host as part of its actual show. Some of it will come from advertising sponsors who will be mentioned at the begining of the show and on any breaks and the final credits, much the same as Corry Street is sponsored by those chocolate people.

Mostly from people who call in for competitions. The charges are high and they give easy questions so they can get lots of callers which gives more than enough to pay out the prize and to have a healthy profit for themselves.
Apart from that, it is mainly sponsors and advertising.
Some companies can even go as far as to use subliminal messages in their advertising campaigns which generate business.

Bear in mind that these shows are generally the cheapest form of TV for the companies to provide us with, only 1 major (debate at will) star, the Host, to pay.

i hear it comes from the sponsors of the show... and also when people are calling up to get on the show they're spending ages on the phone which means loads of money!!
