Some Libertarians are more conservative, like Ayn Rand. Others tend to lean further to the left, such as Noam Chomsky (who is really a socialist).

By definition ALL libertarians are "right leaning" (small government, low taxes, literal interpretation of The Constitution rather than "a living breathing document").
The major difference between libertarians and conservatives, is that libertarians believe that government has NO right to regulate personal behavior, unless it infringes upon someone elses rights.

However, there is a "libertarian" (lower case "l") and a "Libertarian" (upper case "L") , just as there are "conservatives" and "Conservatives".
A "libertarian" now, is the same as a "classic liberal" during the times of our Founding Fathers (ie: Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin). These libertarians also tend to believe in a strong military and secure borders.
A Libertarian, on the other hand, believes in open boarders and less emphasis on military might. Some ACLU members are actual Libertarians, but most are just socialists.

An example of a libertarian would be J. Severin (radio talk show host). A good book to read on the subject would be "What it Means to Be a Libertarian" by Charles Murray.

I hope this helps.

It means you are a true conservative. Small government, low taxes, freedom for individuals and businesses, etc.

Not the conservative wanna-bes that call themselves Republicans these days and pass the drug entitlement program.
