He could not help but care but I think he has resigned himself to having support that varies but he is determined to finish the job regardless. He is not lacking in intestinal fortitude and perseverance.

I think that he was stupid when he said that. It doesn't matter what he is thinking, but to send the nation the message "Hey I'm over all of you guys, and I don't care what you have to say about anything" is just ludacris. This is a democracy, meaning that the people are supposed to have a say. I think that it is ridiculous to say such a thing, because it send America the impression that he doesn't really care about what we want...it's all about what he wants. That is not how the country was founded to be run AT ALL.

I can't swear that he said it but it sounds vaguely familiar. It would be a stupid thing to say if he did. It's not something I would expect a true leader to say. He's not Sheriff Andy in Mayberry. He's president of the United States.

This is just another denial from a dry drunk, coke-head who counted on everyone else and failed at everything in his whole miserable life, and who doesn't want to be wrong and become a failure again.

After he's out of office, doubtless he'll commit suicide, because he will have nothing left to live for. :-)

Excuse me, that just brought a wonderful smile to my face.

His job is not to appease public opinion, that's why he is called a leader and not a follower.
