Depends on generation.
My dad had 6 jobs...
Job 1 - 3 as a kid doing ranch work.
Job 4 - WWII
Job 5 - AA for 30 years.
Job 6 - Locksmith after retirement for another 30.
Job 7 - Living in nursing home. (now 90).
Me: Im 48, and Ive already done 15 jobs..
Only 3 of which came close to 'pension' capable.
1 at 8.5 years - needed 10 to get pension.
Another at 9.5 - needed 10 to get penison - and was part of layoff reason.
Another at 4.5 (9.5 total) needed 5 to get pension.
Fortunately I invested much and have the equivalent of what I would have had in pension funds.

I heard that nowadays, you can actually have 20 jobs! Used to be you went to college, got hired, and stayed till you retired & got the gold watch. Kids cant even decide their major! I'm 40, female, have had 20 jobs for sure, 3 of them for 8+ years, and I'm looking for a job right now!Same industry, different field!
