Do people evade social etiquette? Sometimes I think they do just because they are too lazy to follow proper form in certain situations. Otherwise, I believe it is because they were never taught how to behave when they were a child. Parents have become lax in the department of social etiquette. Our lifestyles are so busy and rushed that no one takes the time to actually teach children the proper things to say or do. Also, TV has had a great influence in this regard. How often do you see proper social etiquette on TV?

It all starts in the home.

lol unfortunately, our culture no longer has proper social etiquette.. we have all become cheap, classless, and well down right hicks. The only people in this country to maintain some sort of social etiquette are the wealthy. Do they use it to evade.. most certainly. It easier for them to stick their nose in the air then deal with something they can't understand. I'd know.. I live near people like that.

They think that by acting snooty they will appear more correct in their actions.

Proper social etiquette should be used at all times.

Spitting on the sidewalk is about the worst I've seen. I don't hate much in this world, but that is definatly one of them. *shudder*

Yes, the first one that comes to mind is the blasted phone. I am often busy, when I'm not on here, and people keep ringing and ringing. They leave messages, "Your car's in the drive, why aren't you answering?" The other one is the same thing, only the door. If I am home, it doesn't mean I am taking calls and accepting guests. Sometimes people are wearing face masks, having sex, bathing, cleaning the oven or taking a nap. It's quite presumptuous to think because a person's home, they want your company, on the phone or in person!

etiquette seems to be a vanishing art form...it involves discipline manners and effort on the part of those who practice it.an example would be individuals from any and every financial strata cleaning up after themselves be it McDonald's or a four star restaurant..please and thank you in their context regardless of social or economic strata..holding a door open for women, children the elderly or the disabled..
