PS Post Scriptum (Latin: Post Script; an additional message after the main body of text in correspondence)

In layman's terms, " Oh by the way" it's an afterthought to the main body of your letter. PS is a Latin term for Post Scriptum. Most of us don't speak Latin, however we still follow the rules of letter writing.

P.S. is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase "post scriptum" which means "after writing". It is basically a note added on to the end of a letter.
