Timothy D L has this down to the T.

As a black man and a humanist, I have always to look to the right of every individual to practise what they wish as long as that right does not impinge on others to exist in peace and harmony.

The problem we have with these warmongering, blood thirsty NEOCONS is that they just cannot accept people have the right to exist in exactly the same way they do. They see nothing wrong in exerting their powers over others irregardless of whether that act is a criminal endeavour like we have been experiencing over the past 6 years.

As a Gay man you have the right to exist without fear or favour and I would defend your right with the last breath in my body.

The right of freedom is something to die for, as my history dictates... NOT F'ing OIL.

Libertarians are commonsense liberals. Why is the concept of commonsense a liberal ideolgy. For the most part libertarians believe in the war on terror, however do not believe in the war in Iraq.
Libertarians generally believe in gay marriage. Not because of some lack of morality, but a sense of legality. If you are an American you should have the same rights as every other American regardless of what you look like, pray to, sleep with.
Libertarians believe in closing the border. Not because of predjudice but because the national identity if not the nation itself will be lost if this is allowed to continue.
Essentially the Libertaians have more in common with republicans then democrats except for their mistrust of the Government and their lack of inciting God on every decision made. They also want as little government intervention in their personal lives as possible. Many do not believe in welfare or the current state of the child support system. Libertarians are more concerned with the working class then either tyrannical party.
The reason they have not taken over the country is because
1) Money
2) The two parties refusal to be fair in elections (I'm not saying they cheat, but the two parties have separate rules then all of the other independents)
3) Americas unwillingness to try something new
4) A lack of unification and leadership

Hope this answers it for you.

Libertarianism is a political philosophy advocating that individuals should be free to do whatever they wish with their person or property, as long as they do not infringe on the same liberty of others. Libertarians hold as a fundamental maxim that all human interaction should be voluntary and consensual. They maintain that the initiation (or threat) of physical force against another person or his property, or the commission of fraud, is a violation of that principle. Some libertarians regard all initiation of force as immoral, whereas others support a limited government that engages in the minimum amount of initiatory force (such as minimal taxation and regulation) that they believe necessary to ensure maximum individual freedom. Force is not opposed when used in retaliation for initiatory aggressions such as trespassing or violence. Libertarians favor an ethic of self-responsibility and strongly oppose the welfare state, because they believe forcing someone to provide aid to others is ethically wrong, ultimately counter-productive, or both.

Note on terminology: Some writers who have been called libertarians have also been referred to as classical liberals, by others or themselves. And, some use the phrase "the freedom philosophy" to refer to libertarianism, classical liberalism, or both.

Libertarians are definitely not considered as liberal, at least in the modern sense of the word. Today's liberal is more socialistic than the 'old' liberal (prior to 1970's?).

You're confusing Liberal and Libertarian with Democrat.

Because they're not. They are old fashioned Goldwater Conservatives. Social policies such as gay marriage/abortion none of the governments business. On the other hand welfare and socialist programs also not the governments business.
