I have said hi to her twice....is is prudent to leave a note for her or just knock on her door an ask politely ...we are on the same floor and she told me her apartment no but oops she did not tell me her name ? ladies whats up here?

She may just think that she already told her your name. If she told you her apartment number, that's probably it. But, I wouldn't just show up at her apartment. She might find that a little creepy. Next time you bump into her in the hall, just stop and start a short conversation with her. Mention that you think you two should hang out sometime. If she seems cool with that (not as if she feels obligated to say yes), then say "How about this *Thursday* we go out for coffee or something?"

Well, if you've said hi to her twice, I don't see any problem in asking her out for a coffee. Doesn't seem too forward to me. If you don't know her name though, I suggest finding through other sources or run into her again, ask for the name, and then few days after that ask her out for coffee.

You seem like a freindly guy so just be yourself and go ahead and ask her but if she says no , it dosent mean you should feel let down .
