I really liked Steve, so don"t come back at me with PETA nonsense. Just wanted to know your impressions of him, was he friendly, etc.

Yes... I am certain many people have met him!
I personally feel he did a great service to the animal kingdom by educating and making us aware of species we know little about. Anytime Steve was bit or attacked by an animal, he was quick to admit it was his own fault by intimidating the animal.
He will be sorely missed!

I saw him when I was at a live show at his zoo last january... was on the edge of my seat biting my fingernails the whole time! Truly captivating, he was a real entertainer. The discovery channel was there filming but i have no doubt he would've behaved the same, even if they weren't.
i do know of someone that said "oi, steve!" when Irwin was doing chores at his zoo, and he replied with a big grin and a hearty "how's it going, mate!" even though they'd never met.
so he was a pretty down-to-earth bloke. i wish i'd met him.

Went to Austrailia with that intent but unfortunately he was on a filming expedition. Though from reports i"ve read, his demeanor was the same off camera as on! Steve's loss is a loss to everyone, especially the animals that depended on him for their own existence! He will be missed by millions!

I never met him, but I loved him a lot! I watched his show all the tim. He was a great man! Life just won't be the same without him!

yep i met at Australian zoo a few years ago i thort he was a wanker then & i still do no other aussie is a silly as him to do those things

yes he was a friendly guy until the big stingray killed him and now he is no more, i will find the stingray and kill it in the future and that is my promise .
