Well if the Democrats would quit attaching riders then maybe they would have been approved! Why would the Democrats put a rider on a bill for securing a nuclear powerplant, that would also add to the cost of cleaning up an oil spill, or the one that had to do with abortion?
The Democrats are as dumb as a box of rocks! When it comes to common sense. We need to have a line item veto so the President from any party can eliminate the Riders on bills.

Although you answered your own question let me add this: IMHO the current administration is well meaning, but unfortunately they are inept at execution of programs. This includes the Iraq war and Homeland Security and border security. We must get a new party in power somehow. It is imperitive. We must go forward and pick up the shattered pieces of our grand land. Go thee and vote!
