Definitely go snorkeling in Cozumel. They have a great reef. Just make sure with the cruise line when you book an excursion that it takes you to the reef and not just some place directly off shore. I did that once and it was lame. In Playa del Carmen the town is really cute and hip. I like to stroll around town there. Also just hanging out on the beach is great! They have little bars along the beach and as long as you buy drinks from them you can hang out on their beach.

I don't really know what you mean by Yucutan because all of this area is the Yucutan Peninsula.

I go to this area at least one a year, sometimes up to three times. And these are my favorite things to do! I hope this helps!

Stay on the ship. By the time you disembark and reembark you don't have a lot of time. plus there is always something to do on board. If you decide to do excursions , don't book thru the ship it is double what you can get it for just by walking up to the counter.
