Although that sounds like a good plan, unfortunately it would not work :( The other person is right, nursing school does not go toward being a doctor and neither does a pharmacy tech go toward being a pharmacist. Being a vet means LOTS of school because you have to get your PhD (doctorate). To give you and idea of how much time that is, it takes 4 years to get a bachelors, 2 more years after that to get your masters, and still another 2 years after that to get a PhD. (Also, Vet Tech is usually 2 years to get). The problem with vocational things like vet tech schools is you don't get taught the general education such as english, history, certain sciences or anything else like that. And while that might appeal to some people who don't like gen. ed. and don't plan on getting a higher degree that's fine. But for someone like you who would like to get a higher degree it's bad because you can't get a higher degree without all that gen. ed. stuff so if you completed vet tech school for 2 years and you decided to become a vet, you'd have to start from scratch because none of your tech training would match a real university curriculum system and you'd have no gen. ed. Good luck in making a decision!

Get all the science that you can. A number of years ago it was almost impossible to be admitted into a vet school. My daughter got in by getting perfect scores in Muhlenburg College. She scored a perfect 4.0 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Zeta, and Phi Signa Iota.
She has been practicing vet medicine since 1987 and loves it.
