it's not a stray bcuz it has one of those spike collars on iit, but it was terribly neglected cuz it was so skinny. And I snuck it in my backyard, fed it and gave it a home for the night. We already have 4 dogs, my parents won't let me have anymore, but yea..this dog won't go away cuz I fed it. I love animals if u can tell. I'll pick up any stary dog, but yea. I think it's owners are across the street, but I don't want him to go back there and get neglected again....what do I do? I have to go to school in a few, and if my dad cpmes out and finds him, he's gonna run him off [yell at him, HIT him]

your just like me. i love animals too. but my parents would let me keep him for a few days to fatten him up and give him water. because if he is in a really bad condition the animal control might kill him. sorry i don't no what to do. what about put hI'm in your room (if u can) and lock the door (if u have a lock) otherwise if u let him go im sure someone else will call and have him be picked up.

I would tell you to call your local animal shelter- they will have names and numbers of people who can investigate the living situation of the dog- make sure he isn't being abused. As for your parents- I would tell them that you are going to call the local shelter and to let him stay until you hear from them on what to do- if your own dad is hitting animals I am not sure if I would want the people to come to the house and see that- your dad could get in serious trouble- Animal Abuse is horrible!

Your dad is an a$$ if he hits a stray dog. Have an adult help you take the dog to a shelter. This dog needs you. Don't let him become another casualty. You can make a difference. Do the right thing.

Thats very sweet of you to give home and love to a needy dog. go find a nearest pet clinic or a animal shelter home and ask for thier help. meanwhile make sure your parents are aware of the fact that you are trying to help the poor dog by sending it to a proper comfartable place.

Call animal control and tell them that you found a neglected dog. It sould be checked by a vet and thet will decide what to do about returning him to his owners. Unfortunately, like a child, you can't just keep him because you feel bad for him (I wish we could do that for animals and kids), he does belong to somebody else.

Take him to the nice people at the SPCA or call them and ask for assitance. They really love dogs too!
