Lots of people have taken gap years at 50. The thing is, when your young it is called a gap year....when your 50 it is called "being unemployed".

I was 35 and decided to go travelling for a year on my own and thought I was going to be old (if your talking about travelling - as most students who take a "gap year" do go off). I had a fabulous time, met loads of people, made new friends and also my fiance from NZ. Go for it - even if you don't want to travel life is just a blink of the eye..........ENJOY:)
