Anything by J.A.Jance or Stuart Woods. Also, while not really murder mystery you might want to try the new series by Ted Bell. The first book is entitled 'Hawke', they are pretty fantastic books and he is a really great writer. For thrillers with murders that need to be solved check out Jack duBrul his Mercer character is a great set of reads also. Then there is James Doss who's protagonist is a 7' tall native american that is both funny and yet sophisticated at the same time.

Anything by Harlan Coben is a great choice. Especially Gone For Good.
Also, Michael Connelly's Lincoln Lawyer won't let you down.
James Patterson's Alex Cross series is the best - start with Along Came A Spider (if you've seen the movie, it does not do the book justice!).
Christopher Moore's books are a little offbeat, but highly entertaining, not to mention very funny (if you like that kind of dark humor!)
Hope this helps!

well if you don't mind a christian/murder mystery look for The Cape Refuge series by Terri Blackstock, or The O'Malley Series by Dee Henderson. In fact most of the books those two authors write are murder mystery

See if you can get anything by Dorothy L. Sayers. She may be a little out of fashion nowadays, but she has an excellent style and her books are very informative, as well as intriguing. Most of her books concern the activities of an amateur detective named Lord Peter Wimsey. Otherwise, I would heartily recommend the works of Colin Dexter, with his Inspector Morse, which have been so popular on TV throughout the world.

The last Juror by Grisham was very good. It was one of his better written books.
Also, if you don't mind getting away from that genre, I can never stop reccomending Atlas Shrugged, if you've never read it. It is captivating and sucks you in. It is a long book you can really dig your heals into, can't put down, and it is long, so you can really enjoy it for a while
