This has been happening over and over. A few days ago 4000 national guard were extended for 1 year.

Doc8 is clearly misinformed.

Here is the government spin. Note the last line:

Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman said ...
"What these decisions reflect is the flexibility that the United States military has to adjust to a changing environment and a changing situation,"

So, this is a surprise, here we have a guy that avoided the draft during Vietnam and didn't even finnish his term of service in the Air Guard leading the country into a war based on a lie. Extending good people away from their familys and more then posibaly into harms way, for his own enrichment. He will go down as the worst president in the history of the U.S. because of it and the other bonehead mistakes he has made.

That has been going on the entire time it isn't anything new. Secretary Rimsfeld refers to this as the back door draft. Once they have you over there the government can extend you tour of duty (or contract) time.

and the only way home is in a body bag... your troops have got to stay, as no one else is gullible enough to take their places... and did anyone see the ambush of the haliburton HGV convoy... well if you did can you tell me why your fully armed and trained humvee driving troop escort apparently ran away when the shooting started? because to the rest of the world halliburtons guys died due to the american cowardice under fire.

or its just gotten so bad, george hasnt got an exit strategy..

there's a super difference between a draft and what's occurring to the look after. The national look after men signed up for the army and with a draft you're compelled into the army. enormous difference. as quickly as you connect up that dotted line the administrative. can do despite they desire with you inclusive of retaining you in a conflict that would in no way end (or they reinstate the draft). If stinks for the national look after men yet it is existence and existence ain't consistently trouble-free & they'd thank Bush for that.
