When you were a kid, were you scared of the dark?

I got scared because my big brother locked me in the dark attic and I could not get out until my other brother rescued me. What about you?

Yes!

I had monsters in every corner. There was a man who lived under my bed who had one arm longer than the other so I had to sleep on one side of the bed. There was a witch in my closet that would jump out and grab me if I got out of bed. As soon as I turned out the lights the floor would disappear and I would have to hop across to get to the door if I needed to go to the bathroom.

No. Not the dark but I was scared of getting ready for bed at night. My father had told me that God could see me all the time and He was always watching me - so as a kid, I thought He was watching me get undressed for bed at night. That scared me! Don't remember how I got over it.

I'm still scared of the dark. I always have to keep a small light on. My husband was getting really annoyed at first but he's used to it now.

I grew up reading Stephen King novels, so I'm STILL afraid of the dark. Luckily I have a nightlight in the living room that lights up pretty much my whole condo, so I can rest easy now. Lol.

My cousin locked me in the basement lights off for 3 hours. I was scared at first then slowly I got to the point it was no longer bothering me then I even grew to like it. I didn't get out till my aunt came home. I heard her ask my cousin where I was, he had forgoten I was in the basement cause I didn't cry or anything. He was watching TV and remembered where I was when she came out of the bathroom and looked in his room and didn't see me.

I bear in strategies hating the darkish whilst i became youthful,it took me years to over come it,my mum and dad did not rigidity me to "ruff it out" however the merciless attitude easily helped me,i became harsh with myself, and notwithstanding it scared me in the commencing up I bear in strategies nonetheless doing it because of the fact i did not desire to be terrified of the darkish. So yeah your infants won't like it in the commencing up yet I do agree alongside with your husband to a definite quantity. If available bypass away the mild on in the room next to theirs, with their door open somewhat so a number of it could seep into the darkish, tell them there isn't something to be terrified of and which you're real there in the event that they desire you.next close the door yet bypass away the mild on so the mild seeps under the door and that they'd nonetheless see that it is on.whilst they're used to this attempt turning the mild off, consistently reassure them which you will be there in the event that they desire you and there is not something to be terrified of. yet another component my sister tried became putting a everyday toy in the room in an obvious place and saying that (insert toys call) might watch over them at nighttime and scare away any monsters.it could not artwork with all infants in spite of the undeniable fact that it labored with hers,it grew to become the guy made nighttime mild.

No - I was afraid of what might be lurking IN the dark. The dark itself never bothered me - it's just the absence of light. Eventually, I realized God is watching over me and I just prayed for His protection.

You poor thing ~ darling ~ everyone I don't care what they claim, EVERYONE is scared of the dark. We can't see!! You never know what 's there if you can't see. But when u feel that knot in your stomach when you're in the dark ask God for the strength to get through it. I say sometimes to myself (in my basement it's scary) Yeah tho I walk through the valley of the shadow of death - I will fear no evil for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Faith sister, faith. Stupid big tormenting siblings!
