what is the norm these days for c.vs? is it a single page or do companies still look at c.v's that are more than 2/3 pages long?

2 Pages.

1st page should introduce you and your quals, 2nd page employment history and any other relavant info.

In all honesty if the 1st page isn't up to scratch against the competition the 2nd page won't get looked at

Seriously try to keep it down to 2 pages at the most, otherwise it takes too much time for them to read it. One is great, you know, like a summary.

Two pages would be ideal for me. One dealing with personal details and employment, the other dealing with employment (continued) then education/qualifications. Not much else matters really.

One or two pages is more than enough.
