Naruto is very popular now. I used to be obsessed with the anime a long time ago but the "fillers" killed the heat.
Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, and Bleach my favorite animes. I like Alphonse Elric the best.

The most popular anime ever is "Evagelion", but I never understood why so many other otaku liked it. I still think it is "so-so". The most popular shounen anime is One Piece if I recall. Honorable mentions are Tezuka, Matsumoto, Toriyama, Masamune and Miyazaki.

based on the questions i've seen on here the most popular anime right now are naruto and bleach. i didn't care for naruto and haven't seen bleach yet.
but my favorite is saiyuki, and you have to like them all because of the way the interact!

The best anime ever is Golgo 13 the professional. Anything else is just sissy ninja/samurai crap that little ninjer nuthuggers and LARPers like to watch because they believe that crap can actually happen.
