My baby has eczema and for him sorbeliene cream actually made it worse. Try hamilton oil in the bath, no soaps, change laundry liquid to one for sensitive skin, try going to the doctor and getting a medicated cream for it. I got a new cream for my boy the other week and it seems to be working great for him so far, it's not a prescription one, it's by a company called medihoney it's a "intensive dermatological eczema cream with antibacterial honey" I use the new cream 3 times a day, a little bit of it goes a long way and the hamilton oil in his bath.
However depending on how old the baby is, it may also be newborn rash, but try non prescription eczema creams and oils first, speak to the pharmacist to see which product would be best on baby skin

My son had that. Its triggered by an allergy. We finally found out after 4 months that he was allergic to the formula he was having (he had a cows milk protien allergy). We changed his formula to soy based and his eczema cleared up dramatically.
Until we found that out I was using Aveeno Baby - Soothing Relief Cream and Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Creamy Wash which is specially for dry skin and eczema. I tried many different kinds before and the Aveeno worked BEST! * put it on frequently *and as soon as the baby comes out of the bath... dont let the skin dry too much !!! Hope this helps.
~oh i forgot... i was also putting on 1% hydrocortisone cream 2x a day... usually when the rash got irritated and became red.
~Aquaphor dont help... its an ointment. Ezcema should be treated with a thick cream.

The best non prescription advice for exma is mineral oil. It works well and is very cheap. If it is ingested it does not harm you. All you do is put it on 2-3 times a day or more if you want. When my son was a newborn he was diagnosed, I also have exma. After a few days of applying the mineral oil both of our exma was gone.

My son had exema the doctor prescribed, Elidel for everyday and another steroid cream that was for three times a week. An oatmeal soap wash or Tone bath soap because other soaps contain perfumes that dry the skin out worse. Also I moved to All free and clear laundry detergent, and liquid fabric softener.
I know it sounds like alot but his cleared up in about a month. Except for these three little nodules and the dermatologist scraped them off with a little blade and he has never gotten it again.

My son has eczema also. You need to use a plain soap,no baby
bath or baby lotion. As soon as baby gets out of bath put Eucerin
lotion on skin. This helps the dryness. You can use hydrocortizone for face.I personally don't use anything on my sons face.It clears up with proper care & also when it is not being irritated.Blankets shirts anything that touches the babies face makes it break out.Eczema is very sensitive dry skin. When baby gets out of bath pat dry & within 3mins put the lotion on.The dermatologist said it helps moisturize skin.If my sons face is broken out bad every once in a while i use the lotion on it.It clears up better with that than any creams.Good Luck!!!

How old is the baby maybe it's his milk or something he's eating that's flaring up the eczema.
My son has eczema and I use oilatum in his bath and I use pure aloe vera cream on his skin this keeps his skin nice and soft and rash free.

My daughter had excima when she was a few weeks old, not on her face but patches here and there on her body. I switched her baby bath and cream to the Aveno Baby and it went away in a few days. Worth a try.

it's eczema...it's itchy and patches of dry skin (looks like a rash)...they make creams over the counter.. I would ask a pharmacist what the best stuff is. Go to any Rite Aid and they will have it there.

When my babies were born, each with eczema, their doc prescribed some 1% hydrocortisone, and also told me that I can buy Eucerin products aned Aveeno products. They're on the expensive side, but they do work really well.
