I performed a little experiment.
I asked my gf's daughter for President Bush's wife's name and the best she could do was guess "Mrs. Bush?"
I asked her Britney Spears' husband's name, and of course she knew not just his name but his whole damned personal history.
Speaks volumes, doesn't it?

Worship is only for God and his son, smart people know this. However, celebrities do have an overwhelmingly lavish life. They have money to go on vacation, eat the best and healthiest, and material possessions most people only dream about but they seem to have no privacy. But the perfection we see on TV or the big screen is very prepared and thought through, to worship that is so erroneous ( full of error ) but it's ok, that's the way the states want us to be. Thriving for things only a select few get to experience. I've even over heard a celebrity saying " I feel like I've hit the jackpot with this business " And that's a realization that hit home with me, you have to appreciate whatever your talent is. They make millions because we give them millions when we go pay to see them ~ damn that viscious cycle. But no I agree.I'd like to quote something " Woe to the rich ~ for they have already received their consolation." My own quote now " what does a poor father have that a rich batchelor cannot have? The understanding of the miracle of life."

I have found that this is true throughout the world but in the United States celebreties seem to be idolized more than most places. Also, to the person who said they're all bimbos and womanizers. That's pretty stereotypical. I think there are a lot of famous people that aren't like that.

They make millions because the movie companies make billions off of them. They use their face, their name, and their tallent to make the film.
I don't worship them.

Because its how society works....why too are the rich and the famous given things for free when they can easily buy ten without putting so much as a dent in their wallet.
life isn't fair but at least us hard working normal people are still able to say we are down to earth and not complete and utter bimbos/womanizers!

Why do we worship them? That is the question. I don;t worship actors. I like their roles, but I'm not a drooling fanboy about any particular performer

The bigger and better question is.....why do we keep supporting them? If the population, as a whole, decided to forego movies for a couple of weeks......they'd be crapping their pants! God knows it's not any of them are curing cancer or HIV, most can't even dress themselves!

Because movie stars are exceptional persons who can act and can carry our emotions. We pay their movies and believing they are our heroes? and get millions in return.
