No, some might be, but in general a nation can become rich without ever exploiting anyone. Exploiting seems to be economically unsound, in some way.

We are answering, and yes to a great extent.Assomeone said, some nations have natural resources that handled properly can benefit the whole country, but this is rare. Example Saudi Arabia, The Royal Family own the wealth. Most countries gain their wealth by explotation sadly.
Battle ax- if you want to ask questions, you know the procedure, I think, although you do not seem very bright.

I agree with you on one point, the US has become what it is today because of exploitation of minorities and native people of the countries they invade. Examples, Trail of Tears, stealing California from Mexico, invading Iraq. I can't say anything about other rich nations because I don't have the experience that I have with the US.

I think anyone that is rich, has exploited someone...for the most part...
I mean.. what is that Bible quote... it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to get into heaven...
while I guess anything is possible to God... it's not exactly encouraging...

Not necessarily - some are lucky as they sit on vast amounts of natural resources.
Now if you change the word "rich" to "super-power(s)" you may be onto something.
BTW, I don't think the present regime would like the word "harm". I think they would rather view it as "spreading democracy".
The notion that all people want to be free is absurd. If that were the case, the US would have 0 people on welfare and every citizen would run their own business.

If you travel and spend some time in poorer countries, then you will know that the biggest cause of economic success lies in how hard, how well, and how efficiently people work at their jobs.
There are some exceptions, such as the oil-rich countries in the Middle-East. But in most cases it's the country's workers who make all the difference.
In rich countries, most workers are well educated, work longer hours, and they keep busy every minute of their working day.
In most poorer countries, workers are often poorly educated and they often work in easy and laid-back ways, which would be totally unacceptable in Western countries.

no, plenty of poor nations have exploited others and never became rich, rich nations are rich because they have functioning democratic institutions, educational and judicial systems, good infrastructure makes a country keep their riches.

Yes... America would be nowhere near where it is today if it wasnt for slavery. They got 200 years of free labour. Imagine what can be accomplished with all that free labour and all the profits that were made!

Is that a fact? Really? Are you sure? How? can you explain yourself? Do you have proof? who told you this? Which side is your bread buttered? Do you know why you are here? What is your relevence? what is your worth? Who have you exploited lately? Who, what or why did you kill to get to work lately? Can you prove it?
