does the average player in the nfl only have around a 3 year career?

i saw a programme where im sure i heard some one said that ,doesnt sound right anyone have a clue?

Various by position...I know the averqage for a RB is 3 to 4 years. You think of all the long term players offset by the 1 year guys and it probably does average out to 4 or 5 years as a average all around

That's the statistically average but I think you'll find it's really around 7-8 years.

yes that is the average...some more but more so less
