Was it the right or left side of your back that was hurting ? If it was the right side ..I suggest having your gallbladder checked for gallstones. The other thing I was thinking is that it could be severe gastric reflux or (indigestion) which could also be associated with stomach ulcers. Try some tagamet ...(over the counter ) or prilosec OTC and see if that helps the condition and see a doctor asap for a definitive diagnosis.

I would go see my doctor. The hurting below the shoulder blade could be anything from a pulled muscle to heart problems. And the stomach problem, could be anything, something you ate, or even an ulcer. You should make an appointment with your doctor.
