Everytime we have to buy something from craigslist from somewhere nearby, we end up spending $50 for a u-Haul !
Is there a cheaper way ?

I do not have friends with pickup trucks!

Look in the classified ads of your local newspaper under "services". There always seems to be several "guy and a truck" type ads in them. These guys usually have a pickup truck and earn a little cash on the side by providing just the services you need. Once you find one, you can use them over and over. This should be a lot cheaper than renting a u-haul.

Walk into your local bar ask if anyone has a truck and couple minutes, vala 5 bucks for their next round and your movin!!!
