Never mind SE England. Come over to sunny Downpatrick in Co Down. I have to pull the curtains ('drapes' to the yanks) because the sun is reflecting on the screen. Plenty of work here and very little crime, and the Guinness is great.

Am I missing something? I'm on the UK Answers and seeing your question fine.. hmmm

I can't fully help except to say stay away from north west Kent. It's a pit.

Have you tried asking on the upmystreet website? You might get good advice there.

Go on a road trip and check these places out. See what the tax rate it, check on each school, local government, parks, all the amenities in the area. How much are houses, rent? An area that is good for one person may not be good for another. Go there get the feel and see which one YOU like.

Why don't you move to Kane County, Illinois. Aurora is a nice city. It's actually a far west suburb of Chicago. It's very beautiful and reasonable.

BEST is totally relative and subjective. What might seem Best to me, might not, to you.

You've described what you're looking for in clear terms,,, now compare those words, and their definitions to those areas you also state, as well as including THEM in your comparison.
