Everyware I go on the internet Microsoft media player taking out Adobe and other media.

its just a stunt to keep googl from capturing the whole market..
microsoft is rather afraid by the progress google is making you can see any where you go on the inernet there are advertisments from google
googles adsense program is already a big hit

so its google which is taking over the net market not microsoft.

uh.. i thought google was taking over the web =P
its just the Windows Media you talk about and the EU has already sued Microsoft twice for not sharing its Windows Media Player core code with its rivals (Real, Apple and others)...

And dont talk about Real!!! It sucks! RealOne is just a package with loads of adware!!! Dont even think about installing it unless you have got a decent Firewall protection...!

Apple?? It's more or less favorite exclusively among iPOD user...!

there remains Winamp, Yahoo and JetAudio... not much competition yet! =P

I wouldn't worry about it but it fustrate me to get every media player when we could just have a universal player for playing audio and video.

microsoft is trying to combat Google with their Windows Live service.

Google is free throughout.
Microsoft is starting free as part of their beta's but will charge afterwards.
Yahoo! is playing catchup
