She has her own car. She'll use my car everytime her car has less fuel and when she needs to send her daughter to work. I've complaint this matter to my hubby many times but it seems that nobody cares. We can't move from there because we're waiting for our house which is done in 2009. Help!!!

Wow, 2009! That is a long time!!! I would lock my car and hide the keys, its not fair that you have to fit the bill, or always make sure your car is low on gas. Tell them that it is your property adn you don't like it being taken just because someone else doesn't have a lot of gas at the moment, or tell them that everytime they take your car you expect $5 in the car on the driver's seat.

I was in the same situation. My ex had bought me a mini-van, we had two kids and I was the soccer mom. My car was always full so he decided I needed something bigger. He worked all the time so I did everything. O.k. so I go to test drive the car and his mom shows up and gets in it with her boyfriend. I was like what the h*ll? The people who we were buying the car from said umm dont you think she should test drive it, shes buying it. Then it got worse. After it was bought my ex informs me that his mom is taking my car to Washington for a week (15,000) miles each way. SO to get to the bottom of it I had had problems with his mom before and felt it coming again. Here was my solution, I said o.k. I dont want the car, sell it to your mother and I left for the day. The arguement was much more intense though as you could imagine. I said I dont want it and if your mom is going to take it before I can get it in the driveway let her have it. In the end she rented a car a my car went into my driveway. Good Luck.

If she has a key, ask for it back. If you haven't tried it yet, ask for the gas money or tell her to fill the tank before returning the car. You have to do something on your own. Unfortunately, nobody will help you. You may become the "bad guy" but at over $2.00 a gallon, at least you'll be a "bad guy" with gas in your car and money in your pocket.

If all fails, buy a bus pass for them.......

Perhaps she like to drive your car more. Use I statements and approach it in this manner.. I don't mind if you use my car but I would like it if you put gas in it. Or I would like it if you asked before using my car. As for hubby he is between a rock and a hard spot.. He loves you and him mum. Use I statements with him too.. I don't feel respected by you mother. I wish you would help solve this problem. Good luck

Stop filling your car up all the way. Do it on an as needs basis so that whenever she wants to use it there isn't any gas.

Also, it is up to your husband to put his foot down. You could also give her gas money if you can afford to. This will give them the hint that you don't want them using your car.

Seems like you need to sit your hubby down for a talk. He needs to grow some balls and cut the umbilical.

Cut off sex until he resolves the issue with his mom - THAT should get his attention.

OMG! Just remind her everyday that she needs to fill her car up on gas or when she grabs your keys tell her to fill your tank up when she's done!

She just doesn't want to spend the money for gas- she'll stop!

get in your car and go for a drive. drive all the gas out so you are almost on 'W' (walk) and give her the keys. then take her car out and drive almost all the gas out. this way she's the one paying for gas.
ask if you can trade cars.
tell her she's not covered by your insurance.
NO

Tell her to drive her own car or tell her to help pay for gas for her car.

Make sure you leave it with an empty tank. Two things could happen. One she runs out of gas. Second, she puts gas in it. Either way , you come out ahead. And just say that you forgot to put gas in it.
