The measure, called the Real ID Act, says that driver's licenses and other ID cards must include a digital photograph, anti-counterfeiting features and undefined "machine-readable technology, with defined minimum data elements" that could include a magnetic strip or RFID tag.

my understanding is the card will have an rfid chip ... if not intitially then it will on renewal ...there are no data-bases called for in the bill but it is left up to homeland-security how the system will be implemented. ... i invision sensors and scanners everywhere eventually that will refuse u access to buildings ... maybe even through toll booths on roads if you dont have ur card on you ... with centralized databases it will most likely become required to scan ur card for all purchases ... and within a few years the entire financial system will probably be phased into cashless ... simply because it will be convenient. so, at first, you can probaly refuse it and be a rebel ... but eventually you will run into problems like you would traveling around without a drivers-license and be looked at like a criminal ... then eventually after that you wont be able to function in society without it because you wont be able to buy anything without it.

My state id already has those things on it. Check the back of your id, they might be on there, too.
