There are a lot of gentle solutions out there that are easy and painless to use.
There are also drinkable solutions that will flush your bowels just as good as an enema (without having to insert anything in the backdoor, if you will).
But I'd get some professional (i.e., a doctor) advice before doing anything.
I wonder what the hell your husband is saying to you and why he thinks you should get one.

Why would you get an enema?? Are you constipated or are you attempting to bring about labor? It's not painful, no. If used when you need it for medical purposes anyhow. If you are constipated it will just loosen the stools a little and allow the bowels to let go. But if you are using it to bring about labor and you already have normal bowel movements it will give you cramping and diarrea.

The amount of pain is directly related to the experience of the person giving the enema. It can be helpful if you are having trouble with constipation or IBS

I gave myself this about a month or two ago. I was in such severe pain and nothing else was working. My husband thought I was crazy, but it worked and not pain full either. I did it myself which was tricky, but you'll just about do anything when you have suffered a while. Good luck. Oh it is not harmful at all , unless you do this too often then your body can rely on it. So do it only when absolutely necessary.

I am sure you don't need one, just drink a glass of prune juice a day. I had a mother who believed in torturers when we got sick and an enema was one of those, It is embarrassing. Tell your husband to get one himself. He is the same one who does not care to make love to you since you are pregnant. You need to straighten the guy out or dump him.

Doctors rarely use enemas anymore. No matter what you will have a movement on the table. But, no one will even notice because they clean it up before you even know you pooped on the table.

No clue about what it's like but an old friend of mine used to do this as some part of sexual stimulation so it can't be that bad I guess.......just sounds gross to me. Are you going to have a baby or what ? For baby, yes get one it's really embarassing to know everyone saw you shitting on the table.

Since your husband thinks that you should get one, I think you should tell your husband to get one and then he can tell you what it feels like! lol
