I never knew anything at all about Romania, or Romanians, until I met a young man in a game room. We struck up a conversation while playing the game, and have now been friends for almost two years! It's not a romantic thing at all. He is in his twenties, and I am 46, and we are both in a relationship. We just, for some reason, seemed to really hit it off immediately! I love hearing about his life there, and vice-versa. He is a journalist, and speaks very good English...lucky for me 'cause I don't speak his language at all! From what he tells me, there are many similarities in our culture, and not as many differences as one might think! It's been great to have his perspective on current events, and politics. I hope someday we can meet in person, and that our friendship lasts for many years to come. His name is Razvan Bica. and if anybody out there in Romania knows him, tell him you saw his name here! Love ya Raz!

I don't know much of Romania other than what I learned from a friend who adopted an orphaned little girl from there who was three years old and couldn't yet walk or talk at all because she was kept in a crib her whole life. I guess there is (or at least there was about five years aog) a severe problem with overcrowded orphanages.
