How many mega (bytes) are in a gigabyte?

I know I know, stupid question but I cant remember and dont want to look it up. Easy Best answer though

8 bit= 1 byte
1024 byte= 1 kilo byte
1024 kilobyte=1 mega byte
1024 megabyte=1 gigabyte
It is not a stupid question if asked by person other than programmer.

Clearly not that stupid of a question since 5 of the previous 8 got it wrong. The answer is 1024.

Think in terms of 1000.1000 bytes is a megabyte.1000 megabytes is a gigabyte. 1000 gigabytes is a terrabyte.1000 terrabytes is a terraflop.
