how do you trim a yuka tree and will it harm it to cut it?

We have a Yuka Tree and dont know if we should trim it

You can remove the lower leaves of your yucca without harming it. They generally grow upward from the terminal bud (top) if you remove this, it will send out auxilliary (side) shoots. So, do you want a single branch or two.
