Avoid couplers where possible. Only join the two if there's a reason to - otherwise get a 60m patch lead made. A switch will work well but introduces yet another point of failure and requires electricity. Also don't lay your cable alongside electrical wiring. Good Luck.

A coupler is obviously the cheap otion but is more likely to fail. A switch will give more options and provide a signal boost too, but of course is more expensive.. Maximum length for cat 5 cable is 100m.

First of all a patch cable is for a patch panel. putting a switch or coupler as a "joint" gives an extra point of failure. Get a 60 mtr cable.
