I don't know how to answer this but I only agree that abortion shouldn't be legal. I feel horrible to see women that get pregnant because they weren't being responsible and they they kill the fetus. To me that is wrong because that is like trying to be god. But for the women that get raped I dont know what to say. No it isn't their fault they get pregnant but I just don't know about killing babies. For the ones who didn't get raped like the teenagers who got an abortion only god really has a right to kill a baby. and why should they not live because u only care about yourself or only because u made a mistake. If it's ur fault then it's messed up to kill a life. For all you women please don't take this personally. It's only my opinion.

the answer lies in your question... legal is legal... and choice... the other is against the will of and also the killing two living individuals... double murder...
edit...
Ernie ernie settle down, i'm sure she didn't mean it... there are many reasons for and against abortion... some reasons beyond the control of the mother, such as rape, debilitating illness, sometimes the life of the mother may depend on aborting a foetus that has no chance of survival... after all, you could say there is two in a relationship, but the be all and end all has to be the mothers decision... You could argue that there are many people out there that would adopt your child... but can you apreciate the pychological effects on a person/persons that have sired a child, only to give it away... the suffering of that child finding out that it's mother or father do not want them... there is also genetic illness and a lifetime of suffering in some cases, if a child is born with various cancers, or other that cannot be cured... what you need to understand is... usually there is very good cause... i agree, it is too easy for a lady too just walk in a clinic... this is fir the lady to burden with them really for the rest of there lives, and not you, unless you are dad! where you would have hoped you would be understanding , loving and supportive should an event ever transpire! A lifetime of damage can be done by simply going against someones will!
think about it... you know i'm right... deep down you know...
Peace Buddy!

I actually found the answer to your question - get this! The difference being that the killing of the child was not consented to by the mother!
The court held that an unborn child is a "person" for the purposes of the first degree murder statute and the fact that a mother of a pre-born child may have been granted certain legal rights to terminate the pregnancy did not preclude the prosecution of a third party for murder in the case of a killing of a child not consented to by the mother.
Interesting reading if you are into this sort of thing. Check out the full text.

What is it about you and abortion? I am not saying that I agree with it, far from it. However, if a 13 year old girl is raped and falls pregnant, is she expected to keep it? To look at that child everyday and be reminded of what happened to her? Some people would keep it in that situation, but some wouldn't. Each case needs to be assessed on its own merits. There are reasons for abortion. As for your question, usually, someone makes the choice to have an abortion, a pregnant mother and certainly her baby do not choose to be murdered.

It's because the law in some states (not all, by the way) considers it a double murder when a woman who's pregnant is murdered, AND the law of the land does NOT consider abortion a crime. I think you knew that.
If she was pregnant with twins, would it be a triple murder?

Because we are hypocritical when it comes to our laws. Our laws are written to suit the aristocracy that is really running our government. I am pro-life and I believe those who commit acts of violence against children of any age should be strung up by their b@lls. Lately it seems as if violence towards helpless children is on the rise. I read stories of this happening twice, sometimes more in a single week locally. Where a mother throws her 3 month ol baby against the wall crushing it's skull. Then a few months later they show the trial and she gets off with only probation, that is sick. That is why it continues to happen, people see this and they know that they will get away with it. What it really comes down to is education, this is the biggest argument for sex education in schools. Teens are not ready to be parents! Is it more moral to continue to let this happen, or to talk about sex and contraception in school. I am all for them handing out condoms in school. I would rather do that then to continue to hear these horrible stories of abuse, and the continued abuse of birth control abortions.

That was nothing more than an attempt by pro-life zealots to draw the very legality of abortion into further question.

Give it up. If there was no abortion the assumption is that the murderer killed a fetus that would have become a child, therefore the double murder.
