At 5 months old, give it to her. It should say on the side of the bottle though. If the starting age is 6 months just give her a bit less. I havent had an infant in a long time but I know I gave them infant tylenol way before 5 months.

Tylenol won't help unless she has a fever. Very young babies can't take much for runny noses- I have been there. Put a cold-air humidifier in her room. If she is in a bassinet, fold a blanket up under the mattress to keep her head a bit elevated when she sleeps (or sleep her in a baby seat) You can also try the bulb suction tool on her nose. After a few rounds with the bulb your little girl will recognize it by sight and start turning her head away. Pretty amazing how quickly they learn! Good luck.

if it is just a runny nose, do not give tylenol! that is a pain reliever and fever reducer!!! Use tissues with the lotion on it and be gentle. Please...if you have questions about giving your infant medication, call your Ped.'s office. That is what They are there for.
Hope the baby feels better.

No pediatricians do not recomment over the counter medication for infants......
you can put a layer of Vaseline and then Vick's on her chest and back.....humidifier in the room like a Vick's vaporizer....
as well as the aspirator but not jus any aspirator......
use the baby vac....it's the BEST thing I've ever invested in and helps allieviates their colds and not lead to sinus or ear infections.
And this is used in the hospitals as well.

Most of the time, mothers try too hard to fix everything. Especially in little ones who can't talk. But, If she isn't feeling bad, why do you want to medicate her? The runny nose could be the result of a hundred causes. It isn't something a Kleenex won't fix. And, please, never give her anything without talking to her pediatrician. I'll bet the hugs and kisses she gets from her mom keep her feeling happy and well!

Did you take her to get her shots @ 2 months if you did then they should of told you its ok to give Tylenol just to the first line. But if you see her getting worse call a doctor. Best of Luck.

yes, it's okay since I gave my one month old son with a cold 1/4 teaspoon of adult Tylenol per doctor's orders. I learned later as they grew that Vicks Formula 44 D was the best along with Vick's vapor rub on their chests. Good luck. Hope your baby gets better son.

You should not be giving her Tylenol for a runny nose, Tylenol is for pain or fever.
