The WWE is the biggest wrestling company, but it isnt the best!!!
Many people on this section are obviously WWE fans... so I am probably going to get negative reactions here. However, I know that WWE is going down the toilet as far as 'wrestling' is concerned.
World "Wrestling" Entertainment???? False advertising I think!!!
Throughout the last couple of years... I have been very unhappy with the WWE. The majority of matches are very poor and doesnt represent any idea type of grapplingl. Its just flying around, doing these 'stunts' to entertain. This isnt wrestling.... its a circus!!!
Dont get me wrong, because I know the WWE has moved with the times. However, there is no substitute to wrestling. Along with the current matches we see today... they need to add more 'technical' style of wrestling.
Eddie Guerrero did seems to set a good example. He did include some good grappling in his matches.
Remember... the majority of fans that watch the WWE are teenagers. So they probably like WWE for people like Cena, or completely outrageous stuff and story lines. To the old timers... they will tell you different.
I began to appreciate wrestling once I studied the history of it. I soon realised that the direction the WWE have gone is crazy!!
Today... I'd say the better promotions are in Japan. Its more legit and accurate to real world grappling ---- it is still predetermined matches... but its more of an art than WWE's attempts.
It is "Entertainment"... but the WWE needs to include some decent grappling. It will be surprising what Pro Wrestling is like in 20 years time especially if the WWE is still the biggest promotion. I think It will be nearly dead by then!!!
I feel TNA matches are starting to include more grappling. With Kurt Angle there now... I have a feeling he will utilise grappling as his main gimmick. I feel WWE held him back on his "real" skills. Hopefully TNA will give him the opportunity to be a modern day Lou Thesz (the wrestler of the 30's, 40's, 50's, etc). I could be wrong... but at the end of the day, WWE need to pull their finger out and re-think their principles.
Remember that many people are slowly turning to the real stuff like Pride and UFC (MMA fighting) as examples. Once you see a few real fights... and understand real wrestling and submissions.... you will laugh at WWE. Although people still watch WWE for a laugh, it is losing fans because watching the real stuff is far better!!!!
To be honest... I hoped that the WWF/E would bring back some grappling because of MMA in the mid 90's... but it just seems to get worse. I dont even think the storylines are funny or entertaining at all!!!
To end this answer.... WWE is not the best!!! There are better!!!
All the best!!

People who say wrestling is fake are complete morons who don't have any educated clue as to what they're talking about and are still jaded from their childhood when their drunk uncle larry told them that. The storylines are for entertainment purposes only, and the matches are generally scripted, but it still takes a helluva lot of athleticsm and endurance to wrestle and they put their necks (literally) in the line every time they get into the ring. Grow up kids.
WWE isn't the best wrestling company in the world, and they'll admit it. They're the best sports entertainment company in the world.
New Japan or ROH are the best "wrestling" companies in the world.

I think you should all check out Japanese federations. The rosters are filled with extremely talented performers and since i started watching NJPW, NOAH and Zero-one i haven't given WWE a second glance. These federations might not have an awful lot of promo time, but it's not about that - it's about the quality of the match. Puroresu >>> WWE.
Money wise of course WWE is the best, but in terms of quality entertainment - WWE has dropped the ball since 2002. WWE needs to sort out its talent in the ring before it can rise to greatness again. I mean seriously, i can't remember the last good match i've seen on WWE television. I long for the good old days, i really do.

well,of course they are! There is some who think that TNA is on the rise and in fact they are not. I'm not just saying this because I'm a huge fan and i will stay loyal to wwe forever and always. Putting the wrestling aside, just look at who owns the two companies. panda energy international owns TNA ( i mean , its not even a human its a sponsorship for goodness sake). and then there is the god like Mr McMahon, a billionaire , a lovely human being to be with and a guy who generally takes pride in his work in the wwe , not just some jackass who wants to impersonate ECW , who is only interested in the money. ( speaking of ECW Vince now owns that as well.) if your still in doubt look at the quality of the story lines and of course look at what this is all about,THE WRESTLING . there is no comparison! if your still in doubt ask any fan , 99.9% will say the same as i did. WWE is the mecca of sports entertainment. so.... there is my opinion . AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE CAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO! r.i.p Eddie know your loved and missed down here on earth. ill see you in heaven sometime Eddie . goodbye viva la rassa ( by the way if your a big TNA fan and i offended you then I'm sorry)

for me, it has always led the line where other wrestling companies have followed. WWE may have had its critics and yes, compared to what it was 10 or 15 years ago, its good but not better than it was back then. in terms of the wrestlers, personality-wise it wins hands down ahead of say TNA. TNA is nowadays trying to be the new WWE, but the thing is although it has some good technical and athletic wrestlers such as aj styles and chris daniels- who if they were given the chance to appear in the WWE they'd wipe the floor with most of them- it lacks what wwe has: and that is worldwide appeal and longevity. longevity, as in TNA hasn't lasted as long as the wwe. TNA only formed, as a result of WCW going bankrupt and vince mcmahon having to buy a stake in WCW, and whereas TNA arrived on the scene as this fresh-faced, indepdendent wrestling organisation 5 years ago, as an alternative to the commercial and mainstream WWE.
i watch TNA and in my view, its good in terms of the wrestling but as the wrestlers personalities go, its not on the same par as WWE. the quality of the storylines in the WWE may have gone downhill over the years, and some would also say the quality of the wrestling too. but in terms of wrestling personalities who can entertain and attract a large crowd; i.e the DX guys shawn michaels, triple h, you cannot go further than the WWE really. and also TNA has this habit of signing up ex-WWE rejects and making them good, when some of them ; i.e christian and the dudley boys, have previously slagged off vince mcmahon and the WWE. particuarly as it was the WWE who originally launched their wrestling careers in the first place.
therefore, despite its criticisms, the WWE was, is and always the best and will always be my favourite wrestling organisation.

TNA have all these different kinds of matches like a dog collar match but that's just to make them think they're better. WWE is still the best out of every company. Who cares if TNA have kurt angle.

Yes ofcourse it is. There net revenge is up by $50,000,000+ so yes, however TNA is on the rise to the top as well. I personally think the Old ECW is better. It was real and it still has some of the wrestlers that are on WWE from there.

No it isn't - all Vince cares about is making money - he doesn't care at all about the sport - there's only 2 reasons I even watch anymore and those 2 reasons are UNDERTAKER ( MARK CALLAWAY ) and DAVE BATISTA - I've know taker for almost 30 years now and believe me he is as tough in real life as he is in that ring - he was a bouncer at a bar back home in Dallas and I watched him put people out on their butts on a regular basis and as for Batista - he is best out there.
