I have a soft spot for my mother in law - It's called quicksand

A friend of mine told me his mother in law is an angel - I told him "Your'e lucky, mine's still alive!"

well only you will know why you hate her so much...if she is interfering in your marriage then tell her to take a walk....if she is being mean to you, then dont have her around you, if she is making stories or anything like that about you, or involving your kids (if you have any) then give her a wide berth...mothers in law can be horrid witches, but some are ok...mine was an old hag who got a kick out of seeing her son and i fight...because she was the one who caused them...thank god she is an ex mother in law now....

Its a fallacy that all mother in laws , are from hell. I'm sure there are lots of stories of them being an I'mportant member of the family. Life is too short for someone so near to be at war with so i would be seen to be offering the hand of peace first....im sure you can do it.....good luck.

LOL. All of us that are married have been there! In the beginning of our marriage, I put up with mine, was nice to her, and NEVER told my hubby my true feelings (that is his mom). I would vent to my mother and sister about it. They have and had the same problems. It helped to vent to someone who understands. After about 8 years of marriage, she and I finally came to an understanding. Don't ask me how! It just happened. My mother in law is now deceased, and I do miss her very much. Just last year I found out that my mother in law had many issues with HER mother in law as well! It is just one of life's little issues. Good Luck!!

Because she's not your mother. I hate my mother in law too. I can see how horrible she's being, but my husband say's "she would never do something so bad, you have completely got her all wrong." Yeah, right!

Beacuse the most important person in both of your lives is the same person and you both care about them and want the best lives for them.

I am lucky I guess, I have two mil's (mom and step-mom) and we all get along great. My husband also loves my mom todeath. I think alot of it is you have two people who are in love and they come from very different familie and upbringings. His mother had an image of who she thought he should marry b/c of her families way of life and unfortunately for everyone you weren't it.

Hate is a really strong word. If it weren't for her you would not have your husband. I have a mother-in-law also who I love and respect. Not saying that it has always been rose garden but instead of focusing on the bad things you see in her try to focus on some good. Once you learn to accept her for who she is, you will find yourself getting less irritated when she does something that you can not stand. I am sure your husband loves his mom and you love him. Try for his sake. You may end up great friends one day. Good luck!

no one on earth wants anyone else to sit on mother's throne. its ok, chill.

you have to deal with it becaue she is the 'mother' of the person you love and married to. she care for him as much ur mother care for you.

Chill.
