My psc was in storage when I moved and was stored on its side(I did not know this). Since then, 9 mo. ago, it has started to leak. Is it a serious problem? Can it be fixed? What should I do, fix or buy a new one? Money is very tight right now. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

I have used it, it seems to work okay. Will it bite the dust if I keep using it?
Does anyone know what the blue-green stuff is?

Using specified cartridges and have already cleaned them. Still having problems with leaking on outside. Took flashlight, looked inside, the blue-green stuff is seemingly coming from a small black box w/ hole in top. It is located just inside on the right.

By the way the only problem with printed page is random, blurred lines of script. There has, so far, been no blue-green on printed page. Just concerned that it may be done for.
Thanks again for all the help!!

Your only mistake was to store it on it's side, the black box that you're talking about is the service station, were the cartridges gets cleaned and any excess is dump, it has a sponge that holds the excess but when you store it on his side it begun to run out of it and get all over your printer, if it prints OK, don't worry, just to avoid a mess place it on top of a cardboard, and never ever turn a printer on his side, not even for a second. Good luck

It sounds like you ink cartridges are leaking or the seal is gone on the colour one. The colour you see is made from the yellow and blue wells leaking. The quickest way to solve this problem is replace the ink cartridges immediately and clean up as much of the spilled ink using rubbing alcohol and lint free clothes. After this if you continue to see leaking then there is a problem in the ink lines if that model or make has them. If thats the case it will have to be serviced.

Hi There,

Please confirm whether you are using Refilled cartridges or Branded HP cartridges.

If you are using Refilled cartridges I would like to inform you that

Refilling processes and the use of incompatible inks may disrupt the printing system, potentially resulting in printer damage, reduced print quality.

If you are using HP Branded cartridges:

Please clean the cartridges and carriage contacts and check for the results.

If the problem persists, please use different cartridges and see for the results, This should resolve the issue

With the cost of printers now it will be cheaper to replace it than try to fix it. Buying a new ink cartridge will be almost as expensive as a new printer, so even if you clean it out you may be wasting your money.

First connect it and check if it's printing. It might be working fine. If it's not check deal online you can get really cheap printers these days.
